CITO Project Field Research - Phase 2 Begins
Our second research phase for the CITO project kicked off today! Throughout October and November, we will have the opportunity to test the CITO App with learners and organisations across Malta, Ireland, and Norway. The CITO App will help learners to identify their goals, check their skills, and guide them towards online and local learning opportunities.
The aim of the research is to establish the extent to which the CITO App orients the learner towards learning opportunities and to establish the learners’ views on the use of the CITO App.
There are three separate steps to the research:
Step 1: Participants, across organisations in each partner country, will get an opportunity to use the CITO app and complete an online survey.
Step 2: Focus groups will be held in six organisations in each partner country to provide a more in-depth view of the CITO App. Two focus groups will also be held in 'comparison sites', where the CITO App will not be tested and participants will get an opportunity to discuss skills check tools and doing a course in the future.
Step 3: A follow-up survey will be sent to all participants in February 2021.
We will then apply the findings and recommendations from the field research to the CITO App in our final development phase in 2021.
In Ireland, NALA and ETBI are excited to announce that the following organisations have signed up to take part in our research throughout October and November; Keelings, An Cosán, Louth Leadership Partnership, DEASP, NALA Distance Learning Service, Galway and Roscommon ETB, Waterford and Wexford ETB, Longford and Westmeath ETB, Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB and Donegal ETB.
In Malta, the Research Unit within the Ministry for Education will be working with the following adult learning centres to collect feedback on the CITO Skills Checker: Msida Adult Learning Centre, Lifelong Learning Online Centre, the Institute for the Public Service, the National Council of Women, the Malta University Language School, Blata l-Bajda Adult Learning Centre, Mrieħel Adult Learning Centre, Jobsplus and Lifelong Learning courses in Local Councils.
